A print from Herbarium Selectum Emendatum et Auctum designed by Elizabeth Blackwell (1701 -1758) Her work , 'A Curius Herbal' published in 1737-1739, was designed, engraved and hand-coloured by her alone. With some 500 plates it is considered a jewel of artistry and a testament to the fortitude, industry and entrepreneurship of a modern woman. The beautiful folio edition by Trew has allowed more passionate botanists and collectors to admire and enjoy her superb work
