Monsieur Bonne was a French cartographer, Ingénieur-Hydrographe de la Marine, appointed in 1773 by the King Louis XV to succeed J.N.Bellin. He prepared a large collection of maps for several publishers, Raynal and Desmarest among them. His maps do not show decorative cartouches so common in the 18th century however they were appreciated for the details and reports of the newly discovered regions of the world.
