A Chinese export silver dragon bowl, a Chinese export silver dragon mug and a Japanese export silver tea service by Arthur & Bond round out the lineup
SINGAPORE, 24 September 2026 – Hotlotz has opened bidding in its ‘Fine Silver: The Esme Parish Collection,’ a single-owner auction of 213 lots spanning English Georgian, Victorian and later silver to rare Chinese export, Japanese, Burmese and Indian pieces.
The sale offers a collection built over Esme Parish’s 40-year career in the silver trade.
Top lots include a fine and large Chinese export silver bowl by On Hing, chased and pierced with eight panels of dragons, birds and figures before pagodas, carrying an estimate of S$10,000 to S$15,000, and a Burmese presentation silver bowl inscribed to Major-General John Henry Keith Stewart by the officers of the 39th Garhwal Rifles in 1898.
Further highlights include a Chinese export silver dragon bowl by Luen Wo of Shanghai with a green glass liner, a Chinese export silver dragon mug by Sun Shing with a dragon handle, and a Japanese export three-piece silver tea service by Arthur & Bond of Yokohama, chased with chrysanthemums.

On Hing, late 19th century. Chased and pierced with a border of flowering prunus to the rim, above eight panels featuring dragons amongst clouds, birds on flowering prunus, and figures before pagodas, on a circular foot engraved with a band of foliage. 29.5cm diameter, 16cm high, 1,364g.
Estimate: S$10,000 to S$15,000

Peacock mark, late 19th century. Worked in high relief with a continuous scene of musicians, figures and an elephant between foliate borders, the rim inscribed “Presented to Lieut and Mrs J H Keith Stewart by the Officers 39th Garhwal Rifles, 30 Sept 1898.” The inscription refers to Major-General John Henry Keith Stewart, C.B., D.S.O. (1872-1955). 13cm diameter, 405g.

Luen Wo, Shanghai, late 19th century. Finely chased and pierced with two large trailing dragons flanking a flaming pearl amongst clouds, with a green glass liner and carved wood stand. 25cm diameter, 883g.
Estimate: S$2,500 to S$3,500

Sun Shing, late 19th century. A large double-skinned tapering cylindrical mug decorated in relief with a pair of dragons flanking a flaming pearl reserve, engraved with a monogram, with a dragon handle. 14cm high, 356g.
Estimate: S$2,000 to S$3,000

Arthur & Bond, Yokohama, circa 1900. Squat circular form, finely chased and engraved with chrysanthemums and other flowers on a spot-hammered ground. The teapot 13.5cm high, 20.5cm including handle, 1,085g.
