SINGAPORE, 12 June 2026 – A work by Fernando Botero and paintings by Singapore Nanyang masters Cheong Soo Pieng and Lim Tze Peng will headline a single-owner collection of modern and contemporary art offered at Hotlotz this month. The 26-lot sale closes 21 June 2026 and all lots can be physically viewed at HeluTrans.

HIGHLIGHTED LOTS

LOT 11 - FERNANDO BOTERO (1932-2023)

Estimate: S$100,000–S$150,000

Pieces by the Colombian artist Fernando Botero are seldom seen in Southeast Asian auctions. Dancers II represents a late-career masterpiece, bearing his signature and dates from his final decade of production. As a titan of 20th-century figurative art, Botero’s unique aesthetic remains globally iconic.

Singapore's Nanyang Masters

LOT 9 - CHEONG SOO PIENG (1917 – 1983)
Red Tone, 1964, oil on canvas

Estimate: S$45,000–S$60,000

A foundational figure of the Nanyang movement, Cheong Soo Pieng stands among the most significant Singaporean creative forces of the last century. Red Tone captures a twilight scene above a rural settlement, utilizing the amber and ochre palette that defines his mid-career oil canvases.

LOT 7 - LIM TZE PENG (1921–2025)
LP – Autumn Morning by Xu Hun
Ink on paper, signed with artist’s seal lower left

Estimate: S$20,000–S$40,000

Drawing influence from the Tang dynasty poetry of Xu Hun, LP – Autumn Morning by Xu Hun serves as a monumental translation of classical verse into the artist’s celebrated calligraphic style. This piece represents the largest of seven works by Lim Tze Peng featured in the current auction.
