International Marketing for Every Auction

Our long-standing partnership with thesaleroom.com, the world's largest auction aggregator platform, ensures your items are seen by over 7 million potential buyers monthly, both locally in Singapore and internationally.

Our Approach to Valuation

Expert Physical Appraisal

We take physical custody of every item we sell. This allows our specialists to conduct a comprehensive and detailed assessment to establish critical factors such as authenticity, condition, provenance, and rarity.

Comparative Market Analysis

Our continuous market monitoring is based on analysing recent sale prices and current buyer demand for similar items. We also tap into specialised international databases that track the latest sales results from auctioneers worldwide.

Strategic Market Positioning

To maximize the final sale price within the given timeframe, our strategy relies on three core elements: careful curation, optimal timing, and a strong global marketing campaign. Effective positioning is essential for achieving the best result.

The Selling Process

Request a Complimentary Appraisal

Our client services team is on hand to determine the best approach for your specific circumstances. You can request more general information or organise a free appraisal of your items in one of the following ways:

  • By Phone: For general information, or to make an appointment with a specialist, call the Auction Administrator on +65 6254 7616.
  • By Email or WhatsApp Messenger: Submit images and a written description of your items directly to hello@hotlotz.com, or WhatsApp Messenger +65 8660 3476 (for messages only), and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
  • In Person: Bringing your items to the saleroom offers the specialist the opportunity to inspect your item in detail.
  • By Private Appointment: Confidential visits to your home can be arranged throughout Singapore for private collections, whole or partial house contents, and estate sales.

Consign Your Items

  • You have two options when consigning items to us: either deliver them directly to our saleroom, or utilise our in-house collection service, which extends across all of Singapore. A custody receipt will be provided upon our physical acceptance of your items.
  • Your items will then be processed and uploaded into your Hotlotz account and we will authenticate, catalogue and photograph them in preparation for sale.
  • For each item you will receive an electronic sales contract ahead of the sale, with full details of your items including auction, lot number, catalogue description, and estimate and reserve.

After the Auction

Sale results from our auctions are typically available on our website an hour after the auction concludes. Vendors also receive a settlement statement via email when we make payment.

  • Payment to vendors is processed via bank transfer. Payments are issued 30 days after the sale date, provided we have received full payment.
  • If your lots are unsold, you may either relist them in our Marketplace at a fixed price, re-offer them in an upcoming auction or collect them back.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What fees does Hotlotz charge to sellers?
Hotlotz charges a Seller's Commission when we successfully sell an item. If we cannot sell the item then no fees apply. For auction sales the Seller's Commission is calculated as a percentage of the closing bid - or ‘hammer’ - price. Our standard rate is 21.8% (including GST). A reduced commission rate may be offered if you consign a large quantity or higher-value items. The final rate will be agreed upon by the valuer and documented in your sales contract. For all Hotlotz Marketplace sales the Seller's Commission is calculated at a fixed rate of 21.8% (including GST) of the final sale price. A mandatory Insurance Fee is also applied to all sold items, calculated at 1.7% (including GST) of the final selling price. This is applied to the closing bid price in auction sales or the final sale price in Hotlotz Marketplace transactions.
  • Hotlotz utilises a comprehensive marketing strategy to ensure global exposure for the items that we sell.. This is primarily achieved through hosting timed digital auctions on hotlotz.com, which are concurrently cross-listed on thesaleroom.com, the leading global auction aggregation platform which boasts seven million monthly visitors. Marketing efforts further encompass bi-weekly email campaigns to our substantial database, perpetual digital advertising across platforms including Google, Meta, and TikTok, and selective local and international print advertising. Beyond digital outreach, items are exhibited in our Singapore saleroom for approximately ten days prior to an auction's conclusion.
  • Yes. A minimum seller's commission fee of $50 (including GST) is applied per lot sold. This is in place to ensure that we cover our costs of sale in situations where the percentage rate of commission would otherwise fall below this $50 threshold.
  • Certainly. You can easily submit items for appraisal via WhatsApp Messenger. Simply send photos and details to our dedicated WhatsApp account at +65 8660 3476. Our valuation team will review your message and respond to you. Please note that this number is for messaging only, and we may not be able to answer calls to it.
